Visedeg.no has no advertising or analytics tools. You can upload without an account or use a pseudonym. However, the service is not completely anonymous: images, account data and technical information may be linked to your use.

How we use your information
We store images, filenames, upload times, albums and necessary image information to provide storage and sharing. New images are processed to remove embedded metadata. Older images may still contain it, and visible content in an image is not removed.
An account contains a username and password hash, not a readable password. Email is optional and is used for verification, password recovery and necessary account notices, never marketing. Your profile picture, display name and biography are optional. The contact form sends us your name or pseudonym, email address and message.
Uploads have an encoded IP link to help handle misuse. Administrators can review content from the same account or address. Server logs and legacy logs may contain IP addresses. Reports, status changes, warnings, confirmations and reopening applications are recorded to follow up cases and document actions.
Storage, accounts and sharing are based on the service agreement. Operation, security, misuse prevention and handling enquiries are based on our legitimate interest in providing a safe service. We may also process or disclose information when required by law.
Page views are counted in aggregate without storing visitors' identities or IP addresses in the counter.
Who can see the content?
Anyone with the sharing link can open the content. Profiles and filenames are displayed according to your settings. Anyone with the management link can manage the upload. Links can be forwarded and recipients can save their own copies.
Administrators have access for operation and moderation. Moderators can view and disable reported content, but cannot access the complete user or file list and cannot delete content. We do not sell personal data.
Storage and deletion
Images, account data and upload links are stored while you use the service, until deletion or closure. Deleting a image removes the image and its account and IP links; a technical deletion marker is retained. Administrative account deletion is reversible: the account is closed and its content hidden, but the account and images may be retained for follow-up and recovery. Contact us if you want permanent deletion.
Temporary abuse-prevention counters expire within one hour. Session data expires after up to 12 hours of inactivity. Ordinary admin logs are cleared after 180 days. Warning, report and moderation history is not deleted automatically and must be assessed for deletion once no longer needed for follow-up, security or legal claims. Contact messages are normally deleted within 90 days of a case being closed. Ongoing cases or legal obligations may require longer retention.
Service providers
The service is hosted by DreamHost in the USA. DreamHost and email providers process necessary information for hosting, backups and message delivery. DreamHost's data processing agreement includes EU standard contractual clauses for transfers outside the EEA. Contact us for information about relevant safeguards. Server logs and backups follow the provider's retention periods and may remain for some time after deletion from the service.
Browser storage
A necessary session cookie is used when logging in and for features such as undo. It lasts for the browser session and protects your access. The browser may also remember display settings, such as card size and open sections, and temporarily hold the management link when you log in or register to link an upload to your account. This supports the features you choose, not advertising or analytics. Local display preferences remain until you change them or clear your browser's stored data.
Your rights
You may request access, correction, deletion, restriction and data portability, and object to processing where the rules grant these rights. Contact us at the address above. We must be able to verify that the request concerns you and normally reply within one month. You can complain to the Norwegian Data Protection Authority.
